ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Cloe Willetts is a former senior newspaper and magazine journalist and founder of EQ Storytelling Ltd, a creative studio based in Wellington, Aotearoa, New Zealand.
EQ Storytelling specialises in producing emotional literacy content and teaching resources and is publisher of Dizzy Waggle Books.
Under EQ Storytelling, the mum of one also works as a lifestyle writer and children’s creative writing workshop facilitator.
Recently, she led a nationwide initiative to place thousands of the Dizzy Waggle children’s books in primary schools across Aotearoa. The books reached children and communities most in need, while also supporting health professionals and charities nationwide.
Journalism Career
As a seasoned award-winning reporter, Cloe’s work frequently appeared in New Zealand publications such as NZ Herald, Woman's Day, and New Zealand Woman's Weekly.
She specialised in human interest stories, often covering health and wellness and social issues. Her work included national and international travel journalism, celebrity interviews, and a mothering column.
Cloe worked as a journalist for 13 years before shifting her focus to emotional literacy writing, publishing and teaching.

ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATOR

Dutch born illustrator Fabienne Joni Sopacua is a detail-obsessed, self-taught artist. She was named a finalist for the People's Choice Award 2021 at the esteemed New Zealand Art Show in Wellington, Aotearoa.
As founder of FJS-Art, Fabienne juggles painting and sketch commissions with her work as a passionate children's illustrator. The mum of one is also a qualified tattoo artist, specialising in fine line designs, and can be found working from her studio-gallery space Studio-FJS on the Kāpiti Coast.
Along with welcoming people to her public gallery space, Fabienne will use her studio and tattoo hub to run community art workshops from 2026.
Fabienne first helped to bring the Dizzy Waggle book characters to life in 2021 for the debut release of The Dizzy Waggle Who Lit the Dark.
She delivered the same exceptional work for each new book character in the second and third titles, incorporating bold colour, joyful imagination and emotional expression through the character’s eyes.
Fabienne is working with EQ Storytelling on a fourth Dizzy Waggle book, set for release in mid-2026.
